New Wu-Tang Clan Album in the Works

It’s an announcement a lot of people have been waiting a long time to hear: “New WU TANG CLAN Album coming soon,” the pioneering hip-hop group posted on their Facebook page last night.
In a recent chat with Rolling Stone, Wu-Tang leader RZA spoke of the possibility of a reunion, perhaps one that would coincide with the 20th anniversary of their breakout debut Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) – the caveat being that RZA would be in complete control.
“If the Wu-Tang Clan ever wanna come back together – and next year will be our 20th year anniversary – I’d love for it to be under my leadership and guidance, because I think I’ve grown so much as a man and as an artist that I would know how to drive the ship to the proper location,” he said. “I would love to do that again.”
RZA added: “Of course Wu-Tang is forever. I’m never gonna deny that. It’s on my arm,” indicating the tattoo of the group’s logo on his left arm. “The only time I won’t be down for Wu-Tang is if this arm gets cut off and sent to one of their houses. And that’s not going to happen. I need both of these.”
While the Wu-Tang Clan’s last full album was 2007’s 8 Diagrams, the group did recently join forces for “Six Directions of Boxing,” their contribution to the soundtrack for RZA’s directorial debut, The Man With the Iron Fists. You can watch them perform the cut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon here, and be sure to also catch our interview with RZA about his new kung-fu movie.
