New Kanye West Collaboration With Jay-Z Leaks

Lyrics to ‘That’s My Bitch’ suggest track is from forthcoming ‘Watch the Throne’ LP

Two new Kanye West songs have come out within the past 36 hours — even as his just-released LP, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy , dominates the headlines this week.

First was T.I.’s “Welcome to the World” (which also features Kid Cudi). Then came “That’s My Bitch,” a team-up with Jay-Z and Elly Jackson from La Roux that was reportedly produced by Q-Tip. Judging by the name-check in Kanye’s verses (“It ain’t safe in the city / Watch the throne”), the song could be from the Watch the Throne album that he and Jay are collaborating on.

Driven by a pulsating beat, a throbbing bassline, a Public Enemy sample and a hook sung by Jackson, the song’s lyrics address nasty girls and … fine art.

West — who’s a Jean-Michel Basquiat aficionado — mentions the late artist in one of his verses, and Jay (who of course has a Warhol on the cover of his Decoded book) manages to namecheck his wife, Outkast’s Andre 3000 and a famous art dealer inside of two lines.

“Back to my Beyoncés, you deserve three stacks for the Andre/ Call Larry Gagosian, you belong in museums/ You belong in vintage clothes, watching the whole building/ You belong with n—as who used to be known for dope dealing.”
