Neil Young Taps Metallica, Roger Waters for Bridge School Benefit

Neil Young & Promise of the Real, Metallica, My Morning Jacket, Roger Waters and Dave Matthews highlight the all-star lineup for the 30th Anniversary Bridge School Benefit concert, scheduled for October 22nd and 23rd at Mountain View, California’s Shoreline Amphitheater.
Willie Nelson, Norah Jones, Cage the Elephant, case/lang/veirs and E Street Band guitarist Nils Lofgren will also perform at the all-acoustic non-profit charity event, organized annually by Neil and Pegi Young. All proceeds from the concert directly benefit The Bridge School, which educates children with severe speech and physical impairments.
A trailer for the concert promises additional “special guests.” Tickets go on sale August 29th via Live Nation.
The 2016 edition features a blend of Bridge School veterans and newcomers. The event marks My Morning Jacket’s third appearance, Nelson’s third, Metallica’s third, Jones’ fifth, and Matthews seventh (either solo, with guitarist Tim Reynolds or with Dave Matthews Band). Lofgren has appeared at four Bridge School events, including their first-ever concert in 1986.
Last year’s eclectic Bridge School lineup featured sets from resident leader Young, Lofgren, Ryan Adams, Dixie Chicks, St. Vincent, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr. and Spoon.
