Neil Young Releasing Car-Themed Book Fall 2014

Less than two years after the release of his unconventional memoir Waging Heavy Peace, Neil Young has announced plans for a second book. This one will focus on Young’s lifetime interest in automobiles as well as his recent environmental activism. The book is currently untitled and due on shelves this fall.
Inside Neil Young’s New Memoir ‘Waging Heavy Peace’
“Young returns with more unforgettable stories about his six decades in the music business as told through the prism of one of his life’s passions: cars,” his publisher said in a statement. “An avid car enthusiast, Young will showcase the cars he’s owned throughout his life and the stories associated with them. He will also discuss his dedication to clean energy and his recent awareness of the environmental impact the emissions of his past cars had on the environment.”
The book will also contain Young’s own sketches and tracings.”This work is an eclectic amalgam of memories, artwork, and political pondering from one of the most genuine and enigmatic artists of our time,” Blue Rider Press said in a statement.
Young’s 2012 book Waging Heavy Peace eschewed a traditional linear account of the rock star’s life in favor of a diary-like approach that focused on various eras of his life in a quasi-random order, occasionally pausing for extended diatribes about the sound quality of digital music files and the progress of his electric car project LincVolt.
On March 11th, Neil Young will debut his new digital audio format Pono at South By Southwest in Austin, Texas. Later in the month, he’ll perform a series of solo acoustic concerts at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles before returning to Europe this summer for a tour with longtime backing band Crazy Horse.
