Musicians Sought for Sandy Hook Benefit

A music journalist and newspaper editor in Newtown, Connecticut, is looking for acts to perform Sandy Hook benefit shows. John Voket, an editor for The Newtown Bee, announced on SoundSpike that he has teamed with Connecticut promoter Keith Mahler of Premier Concerts to put together events to provide support following the school shooting last week that left 20 children and six adults dead. Voket has secured open dates for late January and early February at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport.

“I wanted to do whatever I could to help fortify a community fund established to support victims and survivors, as well as to create something going forward in their memory,” said Voket. All proceeds will benefit United Way’s Sandy Hook School Support Fund, and interested musicians can contact Mahler through email, or at 203-573-1600.
