Motorhead’s Motorboat Lines Up Megadeth, Anthrax and Zakk Wylde

Lemmy Kilmister and a merry crew of headbangers will be setting sail – or, rather, revving their “motörs” – from Miami to Key West and Cozumel, Mexico this fall for what his umlaut-loving band has dubbed “Motörhead‘s Motörboat.” Megadeth, Kilmister’s group and Anthrax will headline the floating festival, which will also feature performances by Zakk Wylde, Saturday Night Live alumnus Jim Breuer, hard rockers Danko Jones, stoner metallers Fireball Ministry and more. The trip, which will take place on the lasciviously named Carnival Ecstasy, will take place between September 22nd and September 26th.

“This will be everything you’ve come to expect from a night out with us, except even louder, with more great bands and no way of escaping,” Kilmister said in a statement. “If you thought waves could rock a boat, you’ve got another thing coming with this lovely little outing.”
Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian simply quoted a character from Jaws in the Motörboat announcement: “We’re going to need a bigger boat.”
Tickets for the cruise go on sale March 18th at noon EST.
Last year, Motörhead put out their 21st album, Aftershock, but were not able to promote it fully after Kilmister’s health concerns forced the trio to cancel several tour dates. Earlier this year, the bassist-vocalist told Rolling Stone that he was feeling better. “There is nothing weirder than having everything you are taken from you in one day – bingo,” he said. “Let’s face it – it isn’t as much fun. But it can’t be as much fun if I die. I don’t believe that’s much fun, either.”
