Earlier this month, Morrissey announced he would release a cover of Lou Reed‘s “Satellite of Love” that he recorded live in Las Vegas in 2011. Now he has revealed that the song will also come on both picture-disc seven-inch and heavyweight 12-inch formats with extra tracks. A download of “Satellite” only will be available on December 3rd, while the vinyl releases and a three-track digital release are set for January 28th release.

Each of the vinyl versions will include the track “You’re Gonna Need Someone on Your Side,” off Moz’s 1992 album Your Arsenal – that track, as well as its attendant album, was produced by David Bowie guitarist Mick Ronson; he also co-produced Transformer, the Lou Reed album that features “Satellite.” The vinyls will also contain previously unreleased live versions of his songs “All You Need Is Me,” “Mama Lay Softly on the Riverbed,” the Smiths’ “Vicar in a Tutu” and a cover of punk scene-setters Buzzcocks’ “You Say You Don’t Love Me” that he recorded in London’s Hyde Park in 2008.

After Reed’s death, Morrissey commented, “He has been there all of my life. He will always be pressed to my heart. Thank God for those, like Lou, who move within their own laws, otherwise imagine how dull the world would be.”

In other Morrissey news, he will sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert in Oslo on December 11th. It will be his first concert since March. Claire Danes will host the event, and other performers include Mary J. Blige, James Blunt, Jake Bugg and Omar Souleyman. Morrissey is set to perform three songs.

Morrissey is also planning to release his Autobiography in the United States on December 5th. Already available internationally, the book contains a number of revelations, one being that he had a relationship with a man. In response, he announced that was not a homosexual but instead a “humasexual.” The autobiography will also come out as an audiobook, which The Walking Dead actor David Morrissey narrated. ” “I’m such a big fan,” the actor Morrissey recently told Rolling Stone. “It’s a fascinating read. It’s brilliantly written, and there are passages that are hilariously funny that I loved reading.”
