Now that alt-rock icon Morrissey is in the studio working on his first record since 2009’s Years of Refusal, he has announced its title: World Peace Is None of Your Business. The record will come out “provisionally” in a release period between late June and early July, according to the online Morrissey zine True to You.

The site reports that Morrissey is “beyond ecstatic” with the 12-track record. Producer Joe Chiccarelli, who has previously worked with Alanis Morissette and the Strokes, recorded all of the songs with Morrissey in France with many of the same musicians that recorded Years of Refusal. The group entered the studio on February 1st.

As for the title, Morrissey may not be a diplomat, but he does know a little about world peace. Late last year, he made an appearance at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway, where, among other songs, he performed a version of Lou Reed‘s “Satellite of Love.” He later released a single of a live version of Reed’s song recorded in Las Vegas.

Morrissey has long said that it has taken him so long to put out a new record because he was waiting for the right record deal and would not self-release an album. “I’m independent enough without selling CDs out of the back of a van,” he told The Village Voice in 2012.

In addition to music for a new album, Morrissey has been hard at work on another creative endeavor: a novel. “In 2013, I published my Autobiography and it has been more successful than any record I have ever released, so, yes, I am midway through my novel,” said at the time. “I have my hopes.”

But Morrissey’s most recent release was a deluxe edition of his 1992 album Your Arsenal, which received four out of five stars from Rolling Stone
