•Rapper DMX has been released from a Los Angeles jail after serving 18 days of a 90 day sentence. The rapper was serving time for a reckless driving conviction in 2002. [TMZ]

•An Ohio town will be renamed in honor of Twisted Sister‘s Dee Snider. Cridersville, Ohio will change its name to Snidersville after Snider jokingly made the request on his radio show. (The name change will take effect for one day on August 21.) “Having a town change its name to mine — even though it is changing only a few letters — is one of the coolest things that’s ever happened to me,” Snider said. Green Day will help welcome the New York Jets to their New Meadowlands Stadium on September 13th when the 21st Century Breakdown crew and the cast of the American Idiot Broadway musical perform “Last of the American Girls” during halftime of the Jets’ home opener. •Little Feat drummer and co-founder Richie Hayward passed away at the age of 64 after a bout with liver cancer. Hayward, who also played with Eric Clapton and Robert Plant, last performed with Little Feat on July 11th. [AP]

Bono‘s daughter Eve Hewson will star alongside Sean Penn in the upcoming film This Must Be the Place. Nineteen-year-old Hewson will play the daughter of a rock star (Penn) who is obsessed with pursuing a Nazi war criminal. [ Variety]

Trey Anastasio Band have set up a preorder for the upcoming live album TAB at the Tab, recorded at Atlanta’s Tabernacle on February 27, 2010. The concert features TAB’s cover of Led Zeppelin‘s “Black Dog.” []
