Mogwai’s Video For ‘Mexican Grand Prix’ is a Jittery Tribute to Their Hometown

One might reasonably assume that a music video for a song called “Mexican Grand Prix” would involve Mexico or cars, but Mogwai have never been the type of band to do anything so obvious. Instead, the band commissioned a clip from director Danny McConnell that presents their hometown of Glasgow, Scotland as a tourist slideshow in fast-foward. The imagery is friendly and mundane, but the rapid cutting matches the nervous energy of the music.
