Miley Cyrus Strips Down in Future’s ‘Real and True’

Clip finds rapper and singer cavorting around a spaceship

The video for Future’s latest single, “Real and True,” tells the touching tale of two male astronauts (Future and Mr Hudson) who discover a dead female astronaut (Miley Cyrus) and take her back to her ship so they can undress her, revive her corpse and cover her in glitter. The imagery dovetails into the song’s chorus, which finds Mr Hudson singing, “When the sun dies and the stars fade from view/ Our love will remain real and true.” Future’s verses on the track, which will appear on his forthcoming album Honest, find him toasting himself – “You a player,” he assures himself – as he and Mr Hudson return Cyrus’ body to their ship.

There, they place her on an operating table that looks like a scene from The X-Files and she comes to life, singing the chorus as the camera reveals her body, now covered in silver glitter paint. Future looks on, smoking, and she sidles up to serenade him. He then takes another verse, telling Cyrus, “Can’t nobody ever love you more than me,” as he tries to fix something that’s gone amiss with the spaceship, which leads to an unexpected ending.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Future discussed Cyrus’s contributions to “Real and True.” “Miley heard the hook and instantly fell in love with the song,” he said. “She did her vocals and they sent it back to me and I wrote my verses to that and tried to come up with something unique. Her vocals are very strong and emotional on the song. She brings that passion to this record. Miley is really cool and down-to-earth; she’s always fun to be around and I’m always cracking up when I’m on set with her.”

He also hinted that the track might have something to do with his relationship with singer Ciara; the couple recently got engaged. He said, “It might surprise people what I’m saying ’cause I’m speaking on my relationship and everything I’m going through right now and trying to capture that moment.”

The video debuted last night right before the airing of the MTV Europe Music Awards, where Cyrus smoked a joint and twerked with a dwarf.
