Migos Involved in Shooting Outside Miami

An unknown shooter in a vehicle opened fire on a van carrying the rap trio Migos on a stretch of Florida interstate during the early hours of Friday morning, Miami’s WSVN reports. The group had been traveling south on I-95 after their concert in Pembroke Pines, Florida, had been cancelled. Trooper Joe Sanchez reported that a “dark vehicle” had pulled up alongside the rappers’ van and began shooting. Someone in the van – Sanchez claims that it was a member of Migos, though he also reported that Migos had at least eight members – reportedly used a handgun to return fire, causing the second vehicle to exit the interstate. Twelve shots were fired in total. One person in Migos’ van was reportedly “shot in the leg, suffering non life-threatening injuries,” according to the Florida news station. Police are in search of the person who shot at the van.

WSVN also reports that no members of Migos are currently in the hospital, but all three had visited University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital earlier in the day. They had driven there directly after the shooting. The person who suffered the leg wound apparently remains in the hospital’s trauma center. The group’s manager, however, tells TMZ that no one in their van was injured, despite a report from Miami Herald that one of the group members had been hit.
“Tried To Hit Me Up In Traffic??. . . . But I Had To Work My Magic,” tweeted Takeoff, one of the group’s members, at 10:58 AM, concluding it with the star, exclamation point and prayer-hands emojis. According to the group’s Instagram, their show tonight, also in Broward, is cancelled.
