Migos and DJ Durel pay tribute to the spirit of Spike Lee’s acclaimed 1989 film, Do the Right Thing, with their laid-back video for collaborative track “Hot Summer.”
Director Gabriel Hart captures the crew on a muggy day in the city as they shut down the streets with a retro block party. DJ Durel struts around wearing an old-school fanny pack, and Offset raps his verse on top of a school bus while decked out in a Public Enemy jacket. Various women join the rappers to rollerblade, blow bubbles, lick lollipops, eat cotton candy and play around in a dunking booth.
“Hot Summer” follows Migos’ recently issued track “Is You Ready” and two singles, “Narcos” and “Walk It Talk It” (featuring Drake), from their January-released third LP, Culture II. The trio are currently touring with Drake on the co-headlining “Aubrey and the Three Amigos” trek, which concludes November 17th in Atlanta, Georgia.
