Michael Stipe and Brian Eno Sing ‘Lean on Me’ with Stephen Colbert
An unlikely tribute to R.E.M. from last night's 'Colbert Report'
Stephen Colbert concluded last night’s episode of the Colbert Report by paying tribute to recently disbanded alt-rock icons R.E.M. Colbert placed frontman Michael Stipe on his Rock and Roll Shelf of Fame and wrapped up the show by joining the singer and previous guest Brian Eno for what could be the most unlikely a cappella rendition of Bill Withers’ “Lean on Me” ever captured on tape.
