Michael Jackson’s Mother Accuses Nephew of Elder Abuse

Katherine Jackson granted temporary restraining order against Trent Lamar Jackson

Michael Jackson‘s mother, Katherine Jackson, accused her nephew (through marriage) of years of mental abuse and was granted a temporary restraining order against him, The Wrap reports.

In court documents, both the 86-year-old and other members of the Jackson family accused Trent Lamar Jackson of “years of mental/emotional abuse that have left Mrs. Jackson in a constant state of fear and confusion.”

Trent, who also worked as Jackson’s driver and lived in her guest house, was accused of trying to access Jackson’s bank accounts and credit cards without authorization. The court papers also allege Trent made himself Jackson’s core caretaker “to control her every move.”

According to other reports, Jackson called her nephew “an abusive con-man” and reportedly had to hide in her closet in order to speak freely to her children.

A representative for Katherine Jackson did not immediately return Rolling Stone‘s request for comment.

Jackson is currently in London visiting her daughter, Janet, but is reportedly “afraid to go home with Trent there” and “fears he could physically harm her for terminating him.”

Jackson allegedly tried to fire Trent and kick him out of her guest house previously, but claims he refused. Per the terms of Jackson’s temporary restraining order, however, Trent will have to move out and return all keys, passwords and combinations to the property. A hearing has been scheduled for March 1st.
