Red Hot + Rio 2, the double-disc sequel to the Red Hot Organizations classic Red Hot + Rio compilation from 1996, continues on with that set’s mission to raise money for AIDS and HIV charities while celebrating the sound of bossa nova music. In this clip filmed live at a loft party celebrating the release of the new compilation in Manhattan, Argentinian-Swedish singer-songwriter José González and Californian singer Mia Doi Todd join forces for a cover of the Lô Borges song “Um Girassol da Cor do Seu Cabelo,” which appears on Red Hot + Rio 2. Before the performance, José González explains that he learned how to play guitar by listening to bossa nova records that his parents brought to Sweden after a brief stay in Brazil.
