Former Screaming Trees frontman, occasional Queens of the Stone Age member and solo artist Mark Lanegan has contributed a song to the upcoming compilation Reason to Believe: The Songs of Tim Hardin, a tribute to the late folk musician. Now you can hear Lanegan's gorgeous rendition of "Red Balloon," a pained song about an uncertain love that wavers under his nimble, eerie acoustic guitar.

"I've always been haunted by the devastating voice and beautiful songs of Tim Hardin," Lanegan tells Rolling Stone. "I can't imagine anyone hearing him and not feeling the same." Reason to Believe: The Songs of Tim Hardin will be released on February 12th.
