Margo Price and Late Show bandleader Jon Batiste will lead 2019 Tibet House Benefit Concert, taking place February 7th at New York’s Carnegie Hall.
Philip Glass once again will serve as artistic director for the event, with the composer also recruiting New Order’s Bernard Sumner, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood and Tibetan artist Tenzin Choegyal for the 32nd annual benefit concert.
Tickets for the benefit concert, which promises “an evening full of amazing music and one-night-only collaborations,” are available to purchase now through the Carnegie Hall website.
Proceeds from the concert benefit the work of Tibet House US, a non-profit educational institution and cultural embassy founded in 1987 at the request of Dalai Lama to ensure the survival of the unique Tibetan civilization.
The 2018 Tibet House benefit featured performances by Glass as well as Patti Smith, Carly Simon, Angel Olsen, Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes and Tibetan folk singer Techung.
