Man Charged with Trespassing at Estate Tied to Taylor Swift

A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing for intruding at an estate tied to Taylor Swift this morning, Nashville’s CBS Channel 5 reports. Jacob Kulke was caught at the home in Belle Meade, Tennessee, where he had hopped a fence and a secured gate. When found by security, he claimed he was in contact with someone at the address and was planning on surprising her for her birthday. Swift, incidentally, celebrated her 23rd birthday overseas yesterday.

Kulke said he had traveled by bus from Wisconsin, then jumped in a taxi from the bus stop in Nashville. Police said he had a knife on him when arrested. Though he claimed to be in touch with someone at the estate through social media, the affidavit shows that I.T. personnel found no social media contact between Swift and Kulke. A trustee who deals with property for Swift purchased the 6,000-square-foot mansion last year, reportedly for her family members.
