Macklemore and Ryan Lewis Support Gay Awareness Campaign
Macklemore is riding high off the success of his mega-hit "Thrift Shop," but he took some time out from traveling the world to make this clip for the You Can Play campaign, which fights homophobia in sports, music and entertainment. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are apparently the first musicians to take part in the series, which features videos from professional and college athletes speaking out against homophobia. Intercut with clips of the Seattle rapper performing at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Macklemore – clad in some dope new gloves – delivered some uncut positivity backstage: "Don't let being gay hold you back, if you're straight don't hold others back. Anti-gay language has no place in sports or music. If you can play, you can play."
