Lupe Fiasco Announces Early 2016 Tour Dates

The coming year looks to be a prolific one for Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco, with a tour and several albums on the way. First up, he’s ushering in 2016 with a 17-date U.S. tour. The “2016 Tour For The Fans” as he put it on Twitter, kicks off in Seattle, WA, at The Neptune Theatre on January 13th and culminates on February 13th at Vogue Theatre in Indianapolis, IN.
“I’ve dedicated this tour to my fans who have stood by me as I work on new material for 2016,” he told HipHopDX of the tour and revealed the openers. “I know they’ll also enjoy Billy Blue, The Boy Illinois and Zverse who will be joining me on the road.”
Earlier this month, Lupe took to Twitter to also reveal his upcoming album release plans, which includes dropping three LPs before the year is out. “Attention Lupe Fans: 3 full album releases in 2016,” he tweeted. “#Drogas is up first. Not taking any questions at this time. Thank you.” He later unveiled the next two titles, Skulls and Roy.
Fiasco’s last album, Tetsuo & Youth, was released in January. “For some people it’s gonna be a shock, because there are no politics on the record. Consciously, there are no politics on the record,” he told Rolling Stone prior to its release. “If you want to hear my political spiel or some pseudo-intellectual Lupe, go listen to [2012’s] Food & Liquor II. From here on out, I’m just making music.”
