Lollapalooza Rumors: Eminem, Skrillex, Kings of Leon Lead 2014 Fest

Eminem, Skrillex, Kings of Leon and Arctic Monkeys are all rumored to be headlining this year’s Lollapalooza festival, according to Chicago Tribune. The paper cites unnamed “industry sources” as confirming the acts for the three-day festival, which takes place from August 1st to August 3rd in Chicago’s Grant Park this year. The fest’s producers will officially announce the lineup next week, with tickets on sale next Tuesday. A representative for Lollapalooza declined to comment on the possible headliners.
15 Ways Skrillex Changed the World
If the rumored lineup is true, none of the festival’s headliners will be Lollapalooza first-timers. Eminem previously headlined the festival in 2011, the same year that Skrillex made his first Lolla appearance. Since then, Skrillex returned to the festival last year with his Dog Blood side project. Kings of Leon headlined in 2009, while Arctic Monkeys played an afternoon set in 2011, making this their first headlining appearance.
In total, the festival will spotlight more than 100 artists on eight stages. Last year’s Lollapalooza drew a reported 300,000 concertgoers.
Lollapalooza 2013: Behind the Scenes
Skrillex currently graces the cover of Rolling Stone, having recently put out his new album Recess via an app called Alien Ride. The EDM producer told the magazine that he worked hard to make the album cohesive. “I call my songs vibescapes,” he said. “There’s always a foundation under the tracks that you can feel and pick up on. An emotion. There’s a lot of organic samples: wind, breaths, clocks cut into tiny pieces.” The record is officially out now in non-app form.
