LMFAO: Breakup Rumors ‘Completely False’

When LMFAO kick off their Sorry for Party Rocking tour on May 22nd, they’ll expect just one thing from their fans. “The one rule is, there are no rules,” says member Redfoo. Adds SkyBlu, the group’s other half, “You can use this as your excuse to let loose – no matter what job you got, no matter what people are telling you.”
Thanks to LMFAO’s Number One smashes “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy and I Know It,” their upcoming 25-city jaunt marks their biggest tour to date. But the tour’s launch comes just as rumors have surfaced suggesting a rift between Redfoo and SkyBlu. In a conference call with reporters on Wednesday, the duo dismissed the speculation as merely a byproduct of their rising fame. “It’s completely false. We’re family at the end of the day. Blood is stronger than anything,” said SkyBlu, alluding to the fact that he is RedFoo’s nephew (both are direct descendants of Motown Records founder Berry Gordy).
“Sky might be doing a DJ set in South America and I might be in Vegas, and they’ll say, ‘Oh, they’re separate doing things. How can we make a story out of that?'” said Redfoo. “We have to be smart enough to recognize it’s all a game, keep executing our vision and turn this world into a party planet.”
The tour also marks SkyBlu’s return to the stage, after he sustained a back injury last year during a December gig and was forced to sit out a handful of shows this year. RedFoo said he’s thrilled to have his partner back. “Looking to my right, seeing my player-partner right there is such a great feeling. We follow each other’s lead all the time. The fans love to see us together.”
The duo don’t have any concrete plans for a new album just yet – “We’re always woking on new ideas,” RedFoo says. “We have to.” But they are toying with the idea of an LMFAO movie. “That’s something we’ve definitely been thinking and putting out into the universe,” said SkyBlu. Added RedFoo, “An LMFAO movie is very exciting.”
Several acts will open for LMFAO on tour, including Far East Movement, Natalia Kills and Sidney Samson. Redfoo said fans can expect to see the whole lineup together onstage together when the duo perform their breakout single, “Shots.” They’re also open to having other VIP guests join them. “If Obama wants to come out and wiggle, have our people talk to his people,” said Redfoo. “Let’s get it started!”
