A man who allegedly invaded LL Cool J’s home before the rapper fought and detained him has pleaded not guilty to a burglary charge in Los Angeles, reports Reuters. The suspect, Jonathan A. Kirby, 56, has two prior convictions in California. Under the state’s three-strikes law, a conviction on the latest charge would mean Kriby faces a sentence of 38 years to life in prison.
Police say Kirby appeared to be homeless and confirmed the suspect was treated at a local hospital for a broken nose, jaw and ribs. Another hearing has been set for September 10th to determine whether there is sufficient evidence for a trial.
