Lizzo was the life of the party during a sparkling turn performing her single “Juice” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The singer recently announced her forthcoming LP Cuz I Love You as well as a spring tour.
As the stage began to light up, Lizzo asked if New York was ready for that “ooh ahh sensation,” a reference to one of RuPaul’s Drag Race star Monique Heart’s many catchphrases. Joined by her back-up dancers, the pop star dove into twerk-focused choreography and delivered her clever word play with enthusiasm. At one point, Lizzo changed one of the lyrics to poke fun at the host: “Hold up/Jimmy, please/Don’t make me have to take your bitch!” Later in the song, as she made her way to a heightened stage in the back, the disco classic “The Hustle” was interpolated before returning back to “Juice.”
Lizzo’s new album Cuz I Love You will be released on April 19th. It will be her first full-length with Atlantic and comes four years after the independently released LP Big Grrrl, Small World. Lizzo will play both weekends of Coachella before embarking on a headlining spring tour in support of the album.
