Listen to Arcade Fire Cover Prince in Minneapolis

For the second night of their five-month Reflektor tour, Arcade Fire brought their glittering spectacle up north to Minneapolis. While they were there, they paid homage to the city’s funkiest hometown hero with a cover of Prince’s 1981 classic “Controversy.”

According to Stereogum, Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler spent the performance wearing a digital box on his head that displayed the face of Prince along with that of a less universally beloved Minnesotan, Rep. Michele Bachmann. The band also reportedly included snippets of Lady Gaga’s “Do What U Want,” Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling,” Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” scattered throughout their set. At their tour opener in Louisville earlier this week, Arcade Fire covered the Rolling Stones’ “The Last Time.”
