Elton John has waited seven years to release a solo studio album, and now he's eager to share it. The singer has made his new record, The Diving Board, available to stream on Amazon nearly two weeks ahead of its release date.

"It's got everything I love about American music – gospel, soul, country," John said in February about the T Bone Burnett-produced album. "It's the most piano-orientated record I've ever made. . . It's the most adult record I can make at my age."

The Diving Board will be out on September 24th. John is set to perform at the 65th annual Emmys on September 22nd with a tribute to Liberace, and he'll also headline the iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas on September 20th and 21st. The events hopefully mark return to health for the 66-year-old singer, who canceled a batch of gigs in July and later had surgery to remove his appendix.
