Linkin Park and Steve Aoki are finally making their debut collaborative single, “A Light That Never Comes,” available today, though to hear the cut you’ll have to unlock it by playing the accompanying free 3D Facebook game “LP Recharge.”

Aoki dropped the track during a set at the Summer Sonic festival in Tokyo last month, bringing out Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda to help out as well. While cell phone videos of the performance have been circling around the web, the studio version will hit radio airwaves after its been unlocked in the game; “A Light That Never Comes” will also stream on demand exclusively on Xbox Music for the next two weeks, accompanied by behind the scenes video footage showing how the collaboration came together.

As for the game itself, Linkin Park and gaming company kuuluu Interactive Entertainment AG joined forces to create “LP Recharge,” an action-strategy game that features characters and missions designed by the band (Shinoda even put his art school degree to work, helping to design the game’s look).

“A Light That Never Comes” is set to appear on Linkin Park’s upcoming new LP, Recharged, which is out October 29th and will feature new interpretations of tracks from the band’s last record, Living Things. A limited number of 500 custom made box sets will be available complete with an interactive 3D sculpture based on the Living Things artwork, a 48-age art book, and CDs of both that record and Recharged.
