Just six days after Lil Wayne told fans he was no longer able to write letters from prison, having been moved to solitary confinement for the remainder of his jail sentence, the rapper updated his his site.
In the missive, Weezy tells fans about life in “the bing,” Rikers Island’s punitive isolation area. “This punishment has been handed to me for my earlier MP3 incident,” he writes. “I admit, I fu#ked up and now I must deal with the consequences. As I write this, I only have 25 days left [20 days at press time], and it’ll be even less than that when you read this. So honestly, I’m fine. Obviously, [solitary] gives me a lot of time to myself and a lot of alone time with my thoughts, which can be creatively dangerous.”
Lil Wayne might get some good news before he exits Rikers: The physical release of his I Am Not a Human Being, complete with three new songs not included on the digital version released two weeks ago, is projected to top next week’s Billboard 200, Billboard.biz reports. Kenny Chesney’s Hemingway’s Whiskey held Human Being from the Number One spot two weeks ago. Human Being is also being packaged with the new Def Jam Rapstar video game, and while sales of that game will count toward the EP’s overall sales and platinum count, they won’t factor into Nielsen SoundScan’s tally of the Billboard 200.
