Legal Ticker: Lou Pearlman, Michael Jackson, Kid Rock, Chad Kroeger

• Boy band "svengali" Lou Pearlman has reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors to recoup some of the millions of dollars Pearlman allegedly stole via bank fraud. A judge will decide if Pearlman will serve prison time.

• The owner of XtraJet, the private airline service that secretly taped Michael Jackson talking to his lawyers about the singer's then-pending child molestation case, was ordered to pay $20 million to lawyer Mark Geragos.

Kid Rock pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor of simple battery stemming from that brawl he had at an Atlanta Waffle House last October.

• A Canadian judge has rejected the accusation that police illegally searched Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger's vehicle during a traffic stop in June of 2006. Kroeger will still face charges of impaired driving.
