LCD Soundsystem, Weezer, Odesza Top Forecastle Festival Lineup

LCD Soundsystem, Weezer and Odesza will headline the 2017 Forecastle Festival, set to take place in Louisville, Kentucky July 14th through 16th.
The festival’s 15th installment boasts an eclectic initial lineup that includes PJ Harvey, Cage the Elephant, Run the Jewels, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, X Ambassadors, Vince Staples, Griz, Needtobreathe and Conor Oberst. Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires are also slated to play, the Screaming Eagle of Soul’s first planned concert since he was forced to cancel a string of dates due to stomach cancer.
Other artists slated to play Forecastle include Atlanta MC Waka Flocka Flame, Philadelphia pop-punk outfit Modern Baseball, Oklahoma singer-songwriter JD McPherson, California indie duo Foxygen and even Teddy Abrams, conductor of the Louisville Orchestra. The rest of the lineup features various offerings from across the genre spectrum, from indie newcomers like Lucy Dacus and Twin Limb and rising country acts Brent Cobb, John Moreland and Rayland Baxter to producer/DJs Cashmere Cat, LANY and Ekali, as well as MCs Kaiydo and Jack Harlow. The full list of initial artists is available on the Forecastle website, while additional acts will be announced in 2017.
Forecastle notably marks the first-announced 2017 gig for LCD Soundsystem. James Murphy’s beloved outfit reunited this year and spent much of 2016 making the rounds on the festival circuit. The group is also reportedly working on a new album, their first since 2010’s This Is Happening.
