Laurie Anderson, Gary Numan, GZA Lead Moogest Lineup

UPDATE: Grimes, Miike Snow, Bob Moses, Skepta and Health have been added to this year’s Moogfest lineup. The festival also released Translational Drifts: Volume 2, a free new EP showcasing the “creative cross-pollination that has shaped Moogfest past, present and future lineups.”
Laurie Anderson, Gary Numan, GZA and Odesza top the perpetually eclectic lineup for Moogfest, the annual celebration of all things synth set to take place May 19th through 22nd across various venues in Durham, North Carolina.
Also scheduled to perform during the weekend: Blood Orange, Explosions in the Sky, Sunn O)), Oneohtrix Point Never, the Sun Ra Arkestra, Yacht, Tim Hecker, Daniel Lanois, King Mez, Tory Lanez, Ryan Hemsworth, Simian Mobile Disco, Robert Hood, DJ Harvey, Julianna Barwick, Julia Holter, the Haxan Cloak, Grouper, Hundred Waters and Kyle Hall.

The festival will also feature several “Durationals,” multi-hour audio-visual experiences conducted by Liturgy drummer Greg Fox, producer and frequent Kanye West collaborator Mike Dean and Brian Eno protege Suzanne Ciani. Ambient pioneer Robert Rich is even scheduled to play a 10-hour “sleep concert.”
Moogfest will also host a free, all-ages event featuring DJ Lance Rock and Yo Gabba Gabba with special guests Mark Mothersbaugh and Bootsy Collins.
Along with its variety of musical offerings, Moogfest will host films, art installations, masterclasses and workshops, as well as conversations on topics like Afrofuturism, art and artificial intelligence and transhumanism.
Tickets for Moogfest are on sale now, with three-day general admission passes priced at $249, while VIP passes are $499.
