Lady Gaga Says Computer Speakers Aren’t Acceptable for ‘Artpop’

Lady Gaga really wants you to check out her new album, Artpop, on headphones.
The singer teased the LP in a series of tweets this morning, emphasizing both the lush quality of her material and her hatred for poor fidelity. “oh, & just a suggestion… use HEADPHONES when listening to the new music, ARTPOP is ELECTRONIC CANDY & DELISH ON THE EARS,” she wrote. “THE SPEAKERS ON YOUR COMPUTER are NOT ACCEPTABLE, unless you like hearing music underwater. I do not.”
In a follow-up tweet, she roped in the album’s producers (DJ White Shadow, Zedd, and Madeon) for one final plea: “PLEASE DO NOT MAKE US CRY AND LISTEN WITHOUT HEADPHONES.”
Gaga also used hashtags like “Applause10DAYS,” in a nod to her upcoming single, “Applause,” which will be released on August 19th. Artpop, her third studio album, will be released by Interscope Records on November 11th.
