Korn to Rush Out “Mirror”

Album will hit stores Friday

Following in the recent footsteps of Metallica, Jay-Z and G-Unit, Korn had Epic Records bump up the release date of Take a Look in the Mirror to this Friday. The album was supposed to hit stores next Tuesday, but, according to a band spokesperson, it had been leaked onto the Internet.

“When we heard this record was out there, we said, ‘Fuck release dates — our fans want it now!'” said singer Jonathan Davis. “Korn fans have always been rabid when it comes to our music and if they can’t wait, we’re going to work with the label to put it out as fast as we can. We want our fans to hear the album the way it was meant to be heard.”

Much of the band’s self-produced new album was written at Davis’ Southern California home and inspired by a solo bus trip he took through Phoenix, South Padre Island, New Orleans, Panama City and Nashville.

“We’ve got that spark in us again,” Davis told Rolling Stone. “This is a really aggressive record, more edgy. The last record we were experimenting. This album is back down to the basics and heavy grooves and getting people pumped. You’ll have a lot of screaming on this one.”

Korn are currently on the Back 2 Basics tour with Limp Bizkit.

Back 2 Basics tour dates:

11/18: Chicago, Aragon Ballroom
11/19: St. Louis, The Pageant
11/21: New York, Hammerstein Ballroom
11/25: Boston, The Palladium
11/27: Detroit, State Theater
11/28: Toronto, Arrow Hall
