Korn Extend Self-Titled Album Anniversary Tour

The 20th anniversary of Korn‘s monumental self-titled debut may have passed, but the pioneering nu-metal group still has a spate of gigs lined up where it will play the record in its entirety. The group will kick things off on October 1st in Chicago and perform the 1994 record, which Rolling Stone last year dubbed “the most important metal record of the last 20 years,” around the U.S. for the next month with Suicide Silence and Islander as support.
Korn played their first 20th Anniversary concert in March, marking the first time several songs off the record had been performed live in years, including “Daddy,” “Predictable” and “Shoots and Ladders.” Tickets for the upcoming run of concerts, which will be the last to feature the Korn record in its entirety, go on sale Friday.
“We were all sitting in the car, listening to one of the rough mixes [of the whole album], and I just remember all of us like getting goosebumps,” guitarist Munky recalled of hearing the album for the first time in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. “We called it ‘the Watch,’ ’cause you kinda look at your arm and you look like you’re looking at a watch. We all had goosebumps.”
In other Korn news, the group is planning on releasing a new record next year. In the meantime, they recently released a heavy remix of Rihanna’s trap tune “Bitch Better have My Money.” The group also previously announced that it would be appearing at this year’s Knotfest, the music fest thrown by Slipknot, which is listed among the group’s 20th Anniverary dates.
