The first night of Governors Ball ended up a giant mud pit with fans and concession workers scrambling in the torrential wind and rain. Concert promoters finally pulled the plug on headliners Kings of Leon and Pretty Lights, after the speakers on the main stage blew toward the beginning of Feist’s 7 p.m. set.

“Due to sustained high winds and unsafe stage conditions, Kings of Leon and Pretty Lights are unable to perform,” the festival’s organizers tweeted Friday night. “Please get home safely.” The festival is scheduled to go on as planned for the remainder of the weekend, with Guns N’ Roses and Kanye West capping off Saturday and Sunday nights.

Friday would have been Kings of Leon’s first gig since announcing the release of their new, sixth studio album, Mechanical Bull. The festival’s organizers announced on Saturday that the band’s set had been rescheduled for that evening.
