In a message posted on their Facebook, Killing Joke state that their frontman Jaz Coleman is “alive and kicking in the Western Sahara.” The post claims Coleman has been in isolation for the last month in the Sahara desert while working on two projects: The Nirvana Symphonic, which is being touted as a “TV show and concert in Seattle in 2013,” and a new solo album that will be ready to order “as early as next week.”

“To the relief of family and friends, Killing Joke frontman Jaz Coleman appeared today from his retreat in the Western Sahara bemused by all the fuss of his disappearance,” reads the post. Coleman comments, “I’ve been finishing my book and writing the score for my new project (The Nirvana Symphonic) (laughs), what’s all the fuss about then?”‘

Coleman clarified that he had no knowledge of the previous Facebook post that stated his withdrawal from the band’s September tour with the Cult and the Mission. Still, he feels that recent events require Killing Joke to withdraw from the tour. “‘Looks like this has caused a right ding dong and feel its impossible to continue this tour under the circumstances,” he says in the post. Coleman also said he plans to discover “who has been impersonating him.”

Late last month, Coleman reportedly went missing after “maligning both the Cult and the Mission and pulling us out of the shows,” leading to a concerned band posting on Facebook.
