Kesha, Zedd Plot ‘True Colors’ Single Release on Friday

Zedd has officially announced plans to release a new version of his 2015 song “True Colors” with Kesha this Friday. The singer joined the EDM producer onstage during Coachella’s first weekend for her most high-profile live performance since her legal battle against producer Dr. Luke and her label Sony.
Both Zedd and Kesha have teased their studio time this week, with the producer tweeting out a photo of them behind the boards on Monday. Kesha posted a photo on Instagram of her singing in a booth on Tuesday. “It’s a miracle when someone gives you a chance at finding your voice again with no reason other than that he is a fucking beautiful person with a heart of gold,” she captioned the photo.
Zedd showed support for Kesha soon after a judge denied the singer’s injunction against Dr. Luke, the producer she claims sexually abused her throughout their professional career together. “Very very sorry to hear about your whole situation,” Zedd tweeted to the singer. “I’ll be happy to produce a song for you if you want my help.”
Kesha’s appearance on the Coachella stage was a semi-surprise for fans attending the festival. Zedd had teased “something big” for his set earlier in the day during the first weekend of the fest. TMZ confirmed her comeback performance before Zedd’s set, where Kesha only appeared to sing the song that was on Zedd’s 2015 LP of the same name. Last year, Kesha also made appearances at a Hollywood Vampires show and in Nashville performing with her band Yeast Infection.
