Kelly Clarkson Engaged

Kelly Clarkson is engaged to marry talent manager Brandon Blackstock, the singer announced over Twitter on Saturday.

“I’M ENGAGED!!!!! I wanted y’all to know!!” Clarkson wrote. “Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever :)”

Clarkson’s fiancée is the son of her longtime manager, Narvel Blackstock, as well as the stepson of country star Reba McEntire. Us Weekly reported last March that Clarkson and Blackstock had recently started dating. The two live together in Nashville.

In a 2009 interview with Rolling Stone, the then-26-year-old American Idol alum spoke about her romantic prospects. “I’m not that girl who’s really concerned with it. I’ve dated a bit and it’s just draining to me,” she said. “If it’s not going to happen natural, obviously it’s going to be someone in the industry because that’s the only time people ever really see me. I don’t ever worry about it.”
