Kanye West Joins Twitter, Debuts New Song

MC premieres verse at Twitter offices the day after his surprise visit to Facebook

Kanye West’s tour of social network headquarters continued yesterday. The rapper, who just launched a verified new Twitter account, visited the site’s offices in California to debut another verse a cappella from his upcoming, still-untitled album, Rap Radar reports. “Lyrically, can’t none of y’all murder ‘Ye, cuz y’all raps ain’t got no vertebrae,” West rhymes on this swaggering new verse. As Rolling Stone reported yesterday, Kanye visited Facebook’s headquarters Tuesday and premiered verses from three new tracks and one poem while standing on a folding table.

Kanye racked up more than 200,000 Twitter followers in less than 24 hours. While West is still getting the hang of Twitter’s strict 140-character count (“up! ran out of characters! somehow I knew that was gonna happen lol,” he tweeted), Kanye has already become a prolific tweeter. Highlights include random dating advice (“Dating models I had to learn to like small dogs and cigarettes”), the appropriate apparel for working out (“I jog in Lanvin,” a quip that quickly became a Trending Topic) and the news that West’s next album will not be called Good Ass Job as previously rumored. West also took time to give @rollingstone a shout out for writing about his Facebook visit.

West is already a favorite among Twitter users, even inspiring the hash tag #PredictKanyesTweets. (Aziz Ansari’s “THESE SHOES I GOT ON ARE DOPE AS FUCK!” was the winner according to Kanye.) Despite his many tweets, West has yet to divulge any more concrete info about his next album or confirm the rumored release date of September 14th.
