Justin Bieber may spend his Valentine’s Day in a Miami courtroom, as he is set to be arraigned February 14th on charges of drunk driving, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The pop star does not technically have to appear in court that day, however, and it is possible Bieber’s attorney, Roy Black, will enter a plea on behalf of his client after prosecutors formally file charges.

Bieber was arrested in Miami Beach early last Thursday for drag-racing in a rented yellow Lamborghini with fellow musician Khalil Sharieff. The 19-year-old failed a sobriety test on the scene and then a Breathalyzer given to him at the Miami Beach police station; Bieber resisted arrest non-violently, but was reportedly swearing at Miami Beach police officers before being hauled away.
Bieber was released on $2,500 bond, after which he seemed to compare himself to Michael Jackson in an Instagram post that showed him waving to fans on top of an SUV, next to a photo of Jackson doing the same after he pleaded not guilty to charges of child molestation.
Amidst all of Bieber’s troubles, people are once again taking advantage of the White House’s online petitions, asking the government to revoke the pop star’s green card and deport him back to Canada. The petition calls Bieber “dangerous, reckless, destructive and drug-abusing,” and claims he “is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nations [sic] youth.” The petition currently has over 72,000 signatures, and if it reaches 100,000 by February 22nd, the Obama administration will have to – probably quite reluctantly – respond to it.

Bieber’s arrest and DUI charges follow a raid on his house in California that was part of a police police investigation into an egging incident. After searching the house, authorities said they found cocaine – though they now believe it is MDMA – and arrested Bieber’s friend Lil Za for possession of drugs.
