Justin Bieber and R. Kelly Join Forces on R&B Song

R. Kelly confirmed last night that he has recorded a song with Justin Bieber. “I just did a song [with him],” Kellz told Vibe. “[Justin] just called me to do a song and it’s hot. He wanted to go and do some R&B stuff, so we got together and did that.” That track will come out next week, according to a tweet by Bieber.
Where Does R. Kelly’s ‘R. Kelly’ Rank on Our 100 Best Albums of the Nineties?
The confirmation verifies the rumors the teen pop star started himself when he mysteriously tweeted “They aren’t ready” at Kelly two weeks ago. It also explains the Instagram pic Bieber posted in January that came with the caption, “Me and my homey R. Kelly.” When Vibe asked Kelly about collaboration in general, he replied, “Honestly, I’m at my best one-on-one. So anybody who wants to mess with Kellz, I’m on the front line for ’em.”
Kelly has been very busy on the collaboration front lately. Most recently, he added some lascivious lyrics to Bruno Mars‘ already sexually-charged “Gorilla,” for what that singer called a “G-Mix.” He also dropped a few verses on Lady Gaga‘s Artpop song “Do What U Want” and he teamed with 2 Chainz on his own track, “My Story,” which will be found on the singer’s forthcoming album Black Panties.
After being pushed back, Black Panties is now coming out on December 10th. When Rolling Stone asked him to define the “Black Panties sound” – since his two most recent albums, 2010’s Love Letter and 2012’s Write Me Back, seemed to call back to varying vintages of R&B – he said, “I wanted to change lanes with this new album and remind people of the TP-2.com and 12 Play style of music I can do — ‘Kellz music!'”
