Josh Homme’s Charity Seeks Donations to Help Paris Victims

Josh Homme’s charity the Sweet Stuff Foundation, is seeking donations to help the families of victims killed in last week’s terror attacks in Paris, Fuse reports.

The cause, of course, is close to Homme, whose group Eagles of Death Metal was performing at concert venue Bataclan, where 89 people were killed including the band’s merch manager, Nick Alexander. While Homme co-founded Eagles of Death Metal with Jesse Hughes and plays drums on their recorded material, he does not tour with the group and was not in Paris during the attacks.

“Thank you for a moment to pause. Now time to help,” the Sweet Stuff Foundation wrote on Twitter. “Please donate.” All donations made to the group through December 31st will go to the surviving families of those killed throughout the city. Those who give over $100 will also receive a limited edition “I Give” T-shirt.

The Sweet Stuff Foundation was established to help fund music programs for children and provide support to members of the music community and their families struggling with health issues and disabilities. According to the group’s website, their focus is “vital elements often overlooked,” such as “transportation to medical treatment, assistance with childcare and tuition, income assistance, the ‘last wishes’ of a lifetime, and special treatments not covered by insurance.”

Following the Paris attacks, Eagles of Death Metal canceled their remaining tour dates in support of their new album, Zipper Down. On Wednesday, the group issued a statement on the tragic events, writing, “Although bonded in grief with the victims, the fans, the families, the citizens of Paris and all those affected by terrorism, we are proud to stand together with our new family, now united by a common goal of love and compassion.”
