Jonas Brothers’ Fan Club Crashes From Massive Demand For Presale Concert Tickets

In what is just the latest in a series of high-profile ticket debacles, the demand for concert tickets during the Jonas Brothers’ fan club presale was so colossal this morning that the site crashed roughly 30 minutes before the 10 a.m. EST on-sale time, according to Rock Daily sources — or friends who wish to remain nameless so they don’t get made fun of for joining the Jonas Brothers fan club — who tried to purchase tickets. Even though many fans were able to nab tickets before the crash, more than five hours after the presale was to launch the fan club Website still displays the message “We are experiencing very high volume at the moment. Please check back with us in a few moments.”

Fans of both Phish and Bruce Springsteen have had to suffer through ill-fated ticket releases, but there’s more on the line in the case of the Jonas Brothers: A $30 payment is required in order to join Team Jonas and have a shot at the presale tickets. So what we have now are a lot of angry JoBros fans. Messages on the Jonas Brothers MySpace range from “team jonas, quite frankly sucks. as for now. urghhhhh :p” to “I STILL have not been able to get onto Team Jonas for my access codes!!” to “got mine… i had to buy a second membership this morning, but i got mine.”

The Jonas’ finally made a statement addressing the situation, posting, “Due to overwhelming demand among Team Jonas members for pre-sale tickets for the Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009, the official Team Jonas fan club website experienced intermittent problems this morning, causing delays among members attempting to connect to purchase tickets. For those of you still needing access codes, we are in the process of contacting fan club members individually with a solution so that you can purchase tickets as soon as possible. Rest assured that only Team Jonas fan club members will continue to have exclusive access to purchase tickets for the next 36 hours (through 10 AM EST, Wednesday March 25). Thank you for being a part of Team Jonas.” So whatever upper deck tickets are still leftover will still be available for the next 36 hours.

On a related note, U2 presale tickets go on sale tomorrow. Let’s cross our fingers.
