John Parr ‘Tim Tebow’s Fire’

‘St. Elmo’s Fire’ Theme Remade For Broncos QB

Tim Tebow-mania has moved beyond the sports world and has become a full-fledged pop culture phenomenon. Even pop stars aren’t immune to the winning ways of the Denver Broncos quarterback. Following the Broncos’ overtime win over the Pittsburgh Steelers this past Sunday, Lady Gaga tweeted her admiration for Tebow. “Giants fan but wow. #Tebow That’s what the fuck a champion looks like,” she posted after the game.

However, Gaga has a long way to go before being the number one admirer of Tebow in the music world. John Parr, best known for the Eighties chart-topping theme song to the Brat Pack classic St.Elmo’s Fire, has remade the song into “Tim Tebow’s Fire” in honor of the QB.

“I was inspired by Tim Tebow so I wanted to modify the lyrics…in his honor of the way that he lives his life as being a great example,” Parr told Fox31 Denver

A sampling of the lyrics shows just how inspired Parr was:

“You know I’m out there
Down on one knee
A prisoner
And you’re tryin’ to break free.”

And the chorus now goes:

“I can see a new horizon
blazin’ on the Mile High
I’ll be where the eagle’s
Flyin’ higher and higher

Gonna be your man in motion

All I need’s my Broncos team
Take me where my future’s lyin’
Tim Tebow’s Fire”

Parr actually remade the song back in October, but with the Tebow craze in full swing, the version is getting a new life. Expect even more tributes to the Denver QB. Who knows, if Denver pulls off a miraculous Super Bowl run, maybe a rock opera on his life won’t be far behind.
