It seems that Michael Jackson is doing more than recording his “comeback album.” In an impromptu interview he granted to start-up Sirius Satellite Radio Station during the Consumers Electronic show in Las Vegas, Michael’s older brother Jermaine revealed that the Jackson Five have reformed.
“We’re in the studio working very hard on a new J-5 album that will be released this summer,” he said, adding almost as an after thought that the brothers would also be hitting the road after the album is released. “We’re going to do a new tour. We’re very, very excited.”
Jackson offered no details about the reunion — which would be the brothers’ first outing since the Jacksons’ 1984 Victory Tour — but didn’t hesitate when asked if the new CD and tour would include Michael. “Absolutely,” he enthused.
Michael is currently in the studio with producers Rodney Jerkins and David Foster recording his next album, which is due out in March. Calls to his representatives were not returned by press time.
