Jay-Z Shares Lyrics for ‘Magna Carta’ Track Featuring Beyonce

For the rollout of his new album Magna Carta Holy Grail, Jay-Z has been dropping lyrics for album cuts via its Samsung app. The latest is “Part II (On the Run),” which features Beyoncé.
The track – which reads like something of a sequel to Hov’s “’03 Bonnie and Clyde,” which also featured Bey – tells the tale of a bad boy and his good girl who are on the lam from the cops, the girl turning the boy good, the boy turning the girl bad.

“She fell in love with the bad guy/ The bad guy/ What you doing with them rap guys/ Them rap guys/ They ain’t see potential in me girl/ But you see it/ If it’s you and me against the world/ Then so be it,” goes the track.
The lyrics for “Part II (On the Run)” follow up previous lyrical installments like the Frank Ocean-featuring “Ocean.” “Holy Grail,” which features Justin Timberlake, finds Jay copping lyrics from Nirvana‘s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” In “Heaven,” the rapper references R.E.M.‘s “Losing My Religion.”
