Jamie Lidell Channels Fatherhood for Trippy ‘Walk Right Back’ Video

Jamie Lidell has revealed a beautifully animated new video for “Walk Right Back,” the first single from his upcoming LP, Building A Beginning.

Illustrated by Leolyxxx, the clip imagines a vibrant, magical world seen through the eyes of a newborn and packed with morphing buildings, objects and landscapes. Per NPR, both Lidell and Leolyxxx are new fathers, and the “Walk Right Back” video was inspired by their “dad talks.”

Lidell will release Building a Beginning October 14th, marking his first LP since 2013’s Jamie Lidell. Along with “Walk Right Back,” Lidell has also shared the album’s title track, both of which come as instant downloads with pre-orders of the LP. Lidell will wrap up a short three-date U.S. trek tonight, September 20th, in New York before embarking on an extensive European tour this fall.
