As Karmin were on their way last night to the American Music Awards, the duo of Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan heard their new single, “Crash Your Party,” on the radio. “I almost fainted in the car,” Heidemann told us at the second annual Rolling Stone AMA Party. That was not the only time she was overwhelmed by the day. “I fainted a few times today. Today was a crazy day. We didn’t bring our crystal statue in here, but we won an AMA for new media.”

The fiances, who told us when we spoke to them in September at the iHeart Radio festival in Las Vegas that they were too busy to get married, were part of the inaugural group of winners of “web content creators who leverage their musical talent to engage viewers and audiences worldwide.” While it’s a new category, Heidemann and Noonan were still very much a part of the night’s festivities, catching up with Nicki Minaj and LMFAO and making new friends such as ‘N Sync’s Lance Bass.

Meeting Bass was an especially big deal for Heidemann. “I was like, ‘Dude, I’ve got your Ken doll at my house.’ And he was really freaked out,” she said. “I was like, ‘You were in my locker in middle school. Too much information, I know.'”

Another highlight was getting a shout-out from LMFAO’s dancers during their performance. “After their dancers saw my crazy hair in the crowd they were like, ‘You guys!'” she said. Heidemann called the LMFAO version of “Party Rock” with David Hasselhoff and Justin Bieber “the greatest performance I’ve ever seen.”

After opening for LMFAO in Texas, she was not at all surprised they pulled off the party of the night. “We partied with them and we decided never to open for them again. We can’t hang,” she said, laughing.

The unusual combination of acts LMFAO brought on stage got us wondering about Karmin’s dream collaborators. “Chuck Norris, Busta Rhymes and Gwen Stefani,” said Heidemann. “That would be crazy.” Yes, it would. Maybe they can pull that off for a future video, but they went for a different kind of crazy on the upcoming “Crash Your Party.”

Appearing on YouTube at the start of the video, Heidemann explains, “we jump into somebody’s breakfast table, they’re trying to eat pancakes, we crash their table, go through their refrigerator. We crash somebody else’s party, we end up at an eight-year-old’s birthday, they throw cake at each other, we jump in a dumpster. And we’re superstars at the end of the video.” Brace yourself: the group’s new album is coming in February.
