Christina Applegate probably never imagined that her Married With Children character Kelly Bundy would inspire a rap song, but a hip-hop ode has been penned in her honor.
Though using “white girl” as code for the white powdery substance has been a longstanding trend in hip-hop (Young Jeezy even has a song called “Christina Aguilera”), Big PA wanted to come up with a reference with a bit more history.
“Kelly Bundy was the first white girl in America every guy wanted, especially in my era,” Big PA told Yahoo Music’s Hip Hop Media Training. “So all the songs out there referencing white girls and drugs and drug paraphernalia, she’s one of the very first and closest you can get to a pure uncut white girl.”
In the video directed by Travis Leaf Glover, Big PA rolls with an entourage of Kelly Bundy lookalikes with bleached blonde hair, cut off jean shorts, fishnet stockings and tank tops.
The Coke Boys producer, who also helmed this trap beat with pungent trombones, rapid-fire drums patterns, and party hand claps, demands to be compensated for delivering the goods, rapping, “So don’t act like no dummy, ’cause if you about this money, you know that chick I showed up with, I got that Kelly Bundy.”
